Give A Recorded Statement

Should you give a recorded statement?

I have always told my clients to never give a recorded statement. If my client was represented by a personal injury attorney, I would leave the decision up to him/her. If an injury attorney allows a recorded statement, he or she will only do so if they are on the phone with you.

Understand that the only reason the insurance company wants to take a recorded statement is to trick you into giving away something to help them lesson your damages. They will see if you can contradict yourself from previous conversations and if you are not prepared for the questions they are going to ask, you will be caught in their trap.
